How to do OS and VPARs upgrade in the Mixed VPAR and the mixed OS Environments (HP-UX)

Things that have to be taken care while upgrading in the Mixed VPAR and the mixed OS Environments

Note: These apply to VPARs versions 4.x/5.x . For the latest in case of any differences refer to the latest documents on the VPARs

1) The Overall System VPMON has to be the latest.

2) The update-ux command has to be executed from the VPAR which is the latest bundle.

3) So the First VPAR that is the VPAR from the VPMON has to boot should have the latest VPAR bundle then only it shall have the latest VPMON.

4) All the VPARs have to have the latest update-ux software installed.

5) Only the VPAR that has the A.05.01 that is the latest one installed can give the commands like vparmodify, vparcreate and vparremove etc.

6) The NPAR primary boot path should be modified so as to boot the latest version of the VPMON and this might need changing the Primary boot path for the NPAR.
